For the laptops we use HPs (although you can use any brand you would like). Here is a link to the hp site for HP EliteBook 6930p. If the link does not work you can look up that model on hp's site. I would use the specs on the one in the left hand column ($1432.00 model). It has 2 GB of RAM, 2.26 GHZ processor. Really i would say a minimum would be 2GB of RAM for laptops or the desktops.
For the macs i would say the 24" iMac with 4 GB of ram and the 3.06GHZ Intel processor would work...they run about $1800.00 on the apple site.
the overall dimensions per my floorplan of the entire media center is roughly 80 feet by 38 feet
the recording area is 20 x 20
the media specialist office is 20 x 17
There will need to be a wireless hotspot added in the media center...none in the building are within range.
As far as windows...you could easily say there are no windows my floorplan does not show any. in reality there is one set of windows along the long wall near the couch/chair area (see floorplan).
